FDC2112-Q1: Configuration

Part Number: FDC2112-Q1

Hi team,

My customer would like to know can they use the register configuration from the development board for this part if they are using a 12 bit chip (the dev board has a 28 bit chip)? Is there anything they should change regarding the configuration guide to make it adaptable to a 12 bit chip?

Thanks!
Lauren

  • Lauren,

Thank you for your post and your interest in TI products.
The main difference is the DATA registers, the maximum sample rate, and of course whether it is a 2-channel or a 4-channel part.
Depending on their application, the different sample rates may impact other settings, like RCOUNT, etc.
Estimating the sensor frequency is also different when comparing 12b and 28b parts, and the details are shown in equations (7)-(9) in the data sheet.

    Regards,
    John
