Hi ,

 

customer is using an AWR1843AOPEVM together with a DCA1000 EVM to do raw data measurements via the CLI (Command Line Interface).

 

Customer wants to to move to an AWR6843AOPEVM Rev F and compare results.

Unfortunately, the AWR6843AOPEVM User Guide states that DCA1000EVM can't be connected directly on this board, but MMWAVEICBOOST board must be used instead.

What is the reason for?

The 60Pin connector exist. Is this only a software problem?

Can customer try to connect these two boards directly or is there any physical/... risk?

    Hello Marcus,

    6843AoP EVM was designed to reduce the size of the board and also the cost for customers seeking such an option. Hence the RF front end of the mmWave board had to be removed including features such as JTAG connectivity, RAW ADC capture using DCA1000, LP/BP connectivity etc. These were moved to the mmWaveICBOOST board.

    Now, on popular demand, we are releasing 6843 AoPEVM RevG which will feature direct DCA1000 connection to EVM.
