MMWAVEICBOOST: MMWAVEICBOOST

Part Number: MMWAVEICBOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Im trying to setup IWR6843-ODS with MMWAVEICBOOST as per the mmwave_Industrial_toolbox documentation. The switches and Mux has been set to flash mode, board connected to computer (Mac OS) and powered up.

The documentation mentions identifying the COM ports for Config and Data in Windows OS, before using Uniflash. Kindly advise, how to find them on Mac OS.

Thank you.

  • Hi Srinivas,

Although I don't have a mac, when I google online, I find the following instructions: "Open System Profiler from the Utilities folder, which is inside the Applications folder. From the Contents column on the left, under the Hardware header, select USB; the panel to the right will show all the USB devices that the computer recognizes"

    Best,

    Nate

  • Hi Nathan.

I did Google before posting here. Following the instructions, I could find the USB device. But there is no mention of COM port. It is something like this.

"usbmodemR00810381". From the Uniflash document in the Technical Resources, COM port numbers are important for later code flashing.I don't know if its the same for Mac as well, in which case the COM port numbers are required on Mac.

  • Hi Srinivas,

Please send a picture showing that the board is properly powered and has the pins in the right positions as shown in the guide here.

You do need a port to flash to, but I don't think it necessarily needs to be formatted like COM#. Can you send me a screenshot of the settings screen in Uniflash to see if it identifies that you're using a mac? Similar to this picture I took with my Windows computer.

Additionally, I'm going to pass this thread to the software tools team to comment.

    Best,

    Nate
