Our Arrow Electronics customer Biamp is having issues getting OPT3006YMFT to work in
their application. They have been using for several years, but have just recently been having
trouble with what appears to be a new rev of the part.
It seems TI must have changed manufacgturing partner or process on OPT3006YMFT. These parts used to have a silkscreen/date code that ends with "0”
on the topside of the parts, and now that indicator ends with a “-1”. The parts with a -0 indicator work in Biamp’s application, but the
parts with a -1 do not work.
Biamp is now facing a line down situation as they cannot get any parts to work. They have 7000 of the -1 marked parts in their
MRB/discrepant material cage.
Can we either have someone like Lindsey Fike fly in to visit Biamp, or get some experts from the OPTO team to assist via remote call?
This has become urgent, and is now a topic in the Biamp “war room” with the Biamp CEO on critical shortages.
