IWR1443: IWR1443 Customer Design without TM4C MCU

Hi Champs

My customer is reviewing the reference design of IWR1443 mmWave sensor in addition to IWR6843AOP projects.

During the review of the reference design, they have a question about the function of TM4C1294NCPDTT3 IC in the 1443Boost EVM board.

Please answer the question below.

  1. TM4C1294NCPDTT3 seems be used for JTAG and UART Termnial. Is it possible to use 'CP2105-F01-GMR USB to Dual UART Bridge instead of TM4C MCU?
  2. If 'CP2105-F01-GM can be applicable to IWR1443 custom design, How to download FW bianry ?
  3. If CP2105-F01-GM can be used with IWR1443, Does the Visualizer work without any impact?

    Yes this is done in our IWR6843AOPEVM

    It should work the same way. Just select the "Enhanced" UART Port

    It may require some small modification if you're not using an AOP EVM, but overall it should still work the same.

    The customer would replace T4MC with CP2105-F01-GM following IWR6843AOP design scheme.
