TMAG5231: BOP threshold variation

Part Number: TMAG5231

Hi team,

my customer is surveying our TMAG5231B,

but they want  BOP is below 3mT, but datasheet mark it may be 3.8mT in some cases,

may I know what case would BOP reach 3.8mT  since it doesn't vary much as temperature changes as shown below?

please help since it's related to quite a revenue

  • Hello Fred,

Thanks for posting on the sensing forum! Today is a holiday in the US so we will not be responding to threads today but we will be back in the office tomorrow and will address your question then. We appreciate your patience!

  • Hello Fred,

Sorry for the delay on this question, but the datasheet covers the min/max spec for differences in the thresholds due to any variations during the manufacturing process.

As far as temperature is concerned this device is actually very stable at temperature, so the graph shows a typical unit and its threshold behavior over temperature. For example if you get a device that is 3.2mT, this means that at temperature the threshold will stay very stable around 3.2mT.

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Isaac,

    thanks for your reply,

BTW, my customer is NB application design, does this mean the arc radius is 100.95mm?

check below spec and please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks.

  • Hello Fred,

Thanks for the details, in our tool the measurement is from the LCD hinge to the hall sensor center, but the distances from the magnet should be same since you they indicated there is no offset between the magnet and sensor center in that direction.

You should be getting a diagram as you fill out the form so you may always share with the customer to verify that the dimensions are what they indicated in their information sheet are correct.

    Best,

    Isaac
