DRV5021: omnipolar part having same detection threshold and sampling rate as DRV5021

Part Number: DRV5021
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5033, TMAG5231, DRV5032, TMAG5328

Hi Team,

My customer is now considering DRV5021A1 now and he wants to know if TI have omnipolar part having same detection threshold and sampling rate as DRV5021A1.

I found DRV5033FA should be the closest one, is it correct?

Thanks.

Regards,

Jo

  • Jo,

Thank you for your question here.  Most of our switches operate with a maximum sample rate of 20 kHz.  DRV5033 is our only omnipolar option which samples at 30 kHz.  Of the sensitivity options available, you are correct that DRV5033FA has the closest thresholds to DRV5021A1.

  • Hi Scott,

Thank you for the reply. As you said most of switch have max. sample rate of 20kHz.

Customer wants to know is there other omni-polar, 20kHz device have similar threshold as DRV5021A1 and less variation than DRV5033FA?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Jo

  • Hey Jo,

There are other switches that have similar threshold and less variation than the DRV5033FA, but they unfortunately do not meet the 20kHz spec the customer is looking for. The other devices tend to be low power devices which in turn limits the frequency bandwidth of the devices.

In case if you are interested in looking at those, you can check DRV5032, TMAG5231, and TMAG5328 which has adjustable threshold via a resistor.

    Best,

    Isaac
