IWR6843ISK: XDS110 connection on Ubuntu machine

No I do not. I wish to dedicate this machine to just sensor code development so its practically clean of idle software and doesn't have any random peripherals connected.

I can share a picture of the settings on the board but before I do so, I just want to mention that I have setup the board on a Windows machine and it works fine. So my impression is that the settings on the board is fine and this may have more to do with Ubuntu specifics. But if you feel its the board I will go ahead and send the pics.

Just some more update. I have been making some attempts to figure out what is going wrong. when I run the ./xdsdfu utility I initially get 1 device found as a response which tells me my computer was detecting the XDS110 connection fine. But I went further and messed things up.

I tried to flash the XDS with the provided firmware (i.e. firmware 3.0.0.20.bin) using the xdsdfu utility. But I mistakenly flashed the device with the boot_loader.bin using the command ./xdsdfu -f boot_loader.bin -r. After running this command no devices are found when I run ./xdsdfu  -e. I am assuming that I have bricked XDS110 but don't know how to ground or reset it at this point.

Thank you for the information, I have a clearer understanding of the problem now. 

First, in the case of a bricked XDS110 see this document, first start by manually updating the firmware (section updating the firmware -> Manual Update) and if that does not solve your problem please see the troubleshooting section. 

When trying to debug in ccs, what image had you flashed?

Ahaaa, awesome that worked like a charm, thanks. Bootloader is back and the device. Was able to get this done on my Windows machine but Ubuntu didn't work. So I am now back to the point of trying to configure debugging on Ubuntu. 

So in C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_<VER>\packages\ti\utils\ccsdebug there is a binary file i loaded which has allowed me to perform debugging on my Windows machine for the IWR6843ISK sensor. I presume that this shouldn't change when I move to Ubuntu (please correct me if I am wrong).

I'm glad it is back! That is the correct binary file for debugging... let me look into this today and get back to you by EOD. Sometimes our CCS environment behaves differently on linux machines so I am going to look into the linux documentation for this.

I am running on CCS12.

Oh waoo that was it. I identified the the file you mentioned and once I executed and restarted CCS and my computer my X110 probe works. Thanks so much KI.
