AWR1642: application review

Part Number: AWR1642
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM,

Hi Team,

Good day! Could you please check our cusotmer's concern below?

Here is the scematic of our proposed system below. In the manual it is mentioned I need to have DCA1000EVM.I do not have DCA1000EVM board. Do I need it ? Also, if it is not possible with AWR1642 could you provide the name of the board? So we can order it.

I will emulate  SFCW behavior by setting a zero slope in profile config and using a delta start frequency for each subsequent chirp.

Best regards,

Jonathan

  • Hi

Our team does not have experience with this type of systems.

The capabilities of the firmware are documented in the DFP release (available on ti.com)

    C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_01_02_06_03\docs\mmWave-Radar-Interface-Control.pdf

    Based on this document

    • 0 slope is supported
    • chirp frequency start can be modified (0-450MHz) - see CHIRP_FREQ_START_VAR - see AWR_CHIRP_CONF_SET_SB
    • There are 512 individual chirps available

In order to program these configurations customer will need

    • mmWave Studio (free download from ti.com)
    • DCA1000 EVM

    Thank you
    Cesar
