TMP235: Temperature calibration

Part Number: TMP235

Hi

I want to use thermal couple to do temperature calibration, could you help suggest where should I put it?

On the top of package of TMP235, or just put it between package of TMP235 and PCB?

  • Hello HSU,

The app note below discusses the thermal path for various packages.  Figure six shows the heat transfer through a leaded package, similar to TMP235(SOT-23 or SC70).  Most of the heat transfer is through the leads, so you could consider putting the thermocouple near the ground pins, but I think the results will also be very similar at the top of the package as well.  In either case, you need to allow enough time for both the thermocouple and the TMP235 to fully settle before performing the calibration.
