AWR1843AOP: AWR1843 MIMO operations

Part Number: AWR1843AOP

The AWR1843AOP has TX side phase shifter in the block diagram.

since it is a MIMO radar whether it uses beam forming,

when to use as imaging or obstacle detection, whether it is in MIMO radar with

no TX beam forming, whether it uses TDM mode or any other multiplexing.

if using TDM mode whether any limitation is there on number of TXR because

each TXR is transmitting one at a time.

thank you

  • Hi Mahalakshmi,

Please refer to the AWR1843AOP OOB object detection demo that demonstrates the usage of the radar in TDM-MIMO mode. The single chip radar is used for obstacle detection rather as an imaging radar due to the nature and density of point cloud generated. The device also supports Tx beamforming. Please go through the section 3.4 Configuration (.cfg) file format in the mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf to understand how you can configure your device to perform beamforming as required.

    Regards,
