TMP235: Should I continue to Use this part in my design

Part Number: TMP235

My team has been using the TMP235A4DCKR for several years but unfortunately we've been unable to source this component easily since 2020. I'm wondering if this component will be manufactured anytime soon and if not is there a replacement part we should migrate to that has the same output specifications.

  • Dear Jarren -

Thanks for reaching out, the TMP235 is a popular part. Currently, there are a few hundred parts of TMP235A4DCKR available on ti.com and the immediate alternative if those are not enough would be the TMP235AQDCKRQ1. There are about 75k of those available and this is a slightly better part, with the typical accuracy set at +/-0.5°C where the commercial version is +/- 1°C. The other alternative would be to change your PCB to the DBZ (SOT-23) package variant of the TMP235A4, as there are 225k available of these parts.
