TMP112: I2C bus address issue

Part Number: TMP112
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP102,

Hi Team,

can we differentiate the ID of the temperature sensor if the same i2c bus? because the schematic can not be modify and TMP102 & TMP112 share the same project at same time.

ADDO is always connect high. address always is xx49h.

  • Dear Tommy -

Thanks for the post. Neither of these devices have a unique ID register. The post is a little confusing though, as if two devices have same I2C address, you will not be able to use them correctly. The proper way here, if there are two on the bus, is to make it so they each have a unique I2C address. For example, one part could have ADD0 tied to GND (and use 7 bit I2C address 0x48), and the other tied to either V+, SDA or SCL (for 7 bit addresses 0x49, 0x4A or 0x4B, respectively)
