Hi,

Our customer uses a disk-shaped magnet that is divided into 8 parts by N/S in order to detect the speed/angle of the motor.
Two Hall ICs are placed at the position with a phase difference of 90°.

Is the orientation of the Hall IC important when two sensors are placed on the same circumference with a certain angular interval between them?
For example, below, are A) and B) the same sensitivity?

Hiroshi-san,

Thank you for reaching out with your question. Since the device is sensitive to the component of the magnetic field which is vertical through the package, it would not matter how the package is rotated. Care should be taken to keep the sensing element 90 degrees out of phase from the other sensor to obtain the best result.
