HDC1010: Recommendations for using the heater

HDC1010 support,

Is there a document that provides a recommended routine for using the heater to recondition the humidity sensor? For example, how long should it be on? How often can it be turned on? Any other guidance?

Dear Darren -

Thanks for the post, the HDC1010 heater is very weak, and won't raise the temperature more than a few degrees. I think its primary use would be to check that sensors are working, as you would see a slight increase in temp and slight decrease in %RH measured, while this heater is switched on.

Hi Josh,

I had heard before that the heater can be used to remove condensation or effects from excessive dampness. Is that inaccurate?

The heater inside the HDC2 and HDC3 family members is more appropriate for that function.
