My customer is evaluating DRV5053 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

Has the Sensitivity listed on the datasheet changed over time after 2 years of long-term use?

If the sensitivity seems to change, I would like to know the amount of change.

Hello Shinichi,

Thanks for considering Texas Instruments. Unfortunately the datasheet does not list a life-time drift specification for sensitivity and Im not aware of any data that I can publicly share. However, for a very conservative worst case scenario, I would use the Max and Min bounds of the sensitivity specification found in the datasheet. These bounds will include device manufacturing tolerances, temperature drift, and expected lifetime drift.

I asked same question regarding DRV5053, the answer is different from DRV5055 answer.

Does this means the spec of sensitivity is specified different concept between DRV5032 and DRV5055?

Hello Shinichi,

These do appear to be specified a little different. Looks like DRV5053 is an older device or the business volume we have had has not merited a datasheet update with further clarification on the lifetime-drift with respect to sensitivity. Also it looks like DRV5055 is available with or without temperature compensation depending on the variant.

I understand the situation.

DRV5055 is newer than DRV5053 and can be used without temperature compensation.

Regarding DRV5053, it is not updated by TI's decision .

I encourage customers to consider DRV5055.

When the customer has an additional question, I consult you again.
