LDC3114: Simulate output in raw data mode.

Part Number: LDC3114

Hello,

I am working on a project using LDC3114 in raw data mode.  I am using the coil found on the BOOST-LDC3114EVM board, and I want to find the output of the LDC3114 when the coil is at different distances to various shapes of targets (targets are a thin layer of copper), and I want to find such output using simulation. I have Ansys simulation software, equipped with HFSS and MAXWELL toolboxes. How can I create such a simulation, is there any helpful application note, or has anyone tried to do this before?

Thanks,

  • Hello,

We don't have any applications notes or content to share for this but Ansys has some tutorials on how to build a spiral inductor coil. You can follow along with those and modify the coil parameters to match your desired application. You will want to do a Maxwell simulation and make sure your solver is set for eddy-currents.

    Best Regards,
