AWR1843BOOST: Support for awr1843boost compared to 1642boost

We need to integrate radars over CAN and have ordered a 1843boost. However, since it is a newer version, does it have adequate support and can the modules (.bin files) that run in AWR1642boost run in AWR1843boost?

For example TILabs Data_over_can is supported on AWR1642 radar. Can the same binary file run on AWR1843boost to read data over CAN?

Hi,

It is possible to run AWR1642 code on AWR1843. There are small configuration updates required. Please see following FAQ

However, if you would like to add CAN communication to an AWR1843 demo you should review the resources provided in your previous thread, especially the MRR demo.

We are going to use it for obstacle detection and avoidance on a drone (Objects will be wires, trees and poles in general). We plan to integrate 3 radars (TI AWR 1843): 2 for obstacle detection and 1 for terrain sensing.

We will have to integrate 3 AWR 1843 radars over a single CAN Bus. Is it possible.

Any sources for integrating multiple TI sensors over CAN will be useful.

Also any other suggestion regarding radar modules for our use case will be of help

The first thing you should consider is what SW you will run on the AWR1843.

If a configuration for the mmWave SDK 3.6 oob demo meets your requirements than this would be the demo you should use.
