IWR6843ISK: IWR6843 & mmwaveicboost can not flash in

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, UNIFLASH

The same issue we talked on the previous thread.

We tried the method you suggested, but it still didn't work.

This issue we have been asking sing last November and we want to send it back for repair. Thank you.

  • Hello,

I looked through the previous thread. It looks like now you have the MMWAVEICBOOST + ISK properly configured for flashing mode. However, in your images, COM4 is your DATA port, and COM3 is your USER port, and you used COM4 DATA in Uniflash. Please ensure that you use the USER port in Uniflash.

    Regards,

    Luke

  • Hello,

We tried to use port No. 3, and it could flash normally in the first time, but we failed to flash in the second, third and fourth times.

We have pressed the NRST button in each interval.

    -- At 8:49 a.m

    -- At 8:51 a.m

    -- At 8:56 a.m

    -- At 9:00 a.m

  • Hi Jaly,

It is good to see you were successful once. Was there any difference in protocol between 8:49 and the other times? Are you pressing the NRST button on the EVM or on the MMWAVEICBOOST? Please try switching out your USB cable, then try switching out your barrel jack power supply.

    Regards,

    Luke

    1. No any different in protocol. We tried again today as below video, but the second time also failed.
  • Sorry, we send the video on the phone so that the format was out of order, but you still can see from the video that there were two flash one that worked and one that didn't.

  • In addition, we didn't wait to show failure on the screen, mainly because we were worried about the size of the video too big.

In the interval between two flashing, we close Uniflash, unplugged the USB, unplugged the power supply and pressed the NRST button.

    But, it still didn't work.

  • Hello Jaly,

Please try pressing only the NRST button on the MMWAVEICBOOST. Do not press the reset on the ISK afterwards. The NRST button on the BOOST also automatically resets the ISK board. This could be causing an issue where the XDS110 is losing connection with the device.

Also, I cannot tell from the image, is the barrel jack power supply coming from the wall or from your PC?

    Regards,

    Luke

  • Thanks We just press NRST and we can flash it normally.

  • I am glad we were able to find the solution for you. Thank you for providing the video!

    Regards,

    Luke
