TMCS1100: Creepage limitation

Part Number: TMCS1100

Hi team,

I noticed that our Hall current sensor TMCS11xx series all have a 4mm creepage distance.

Since a 6mm-creepage is required then, do we have other devices to promote?

Thanks.

  • Rebecca,

We do have more devices in the pipeline that will have increased creepage simply due to the package (please reach out to me offline to discuss if this is of interest), but a quick question to consider here: if the customer only needs increased creepage on the part, have they considered placing an airgap underneath the part? While clearnace is fixed to the part (as it is the shortest path through air), creepage is defined as the shortest path pin to pin on the part moving along the board. If the customer were to have an air gap drilled below the part, this could potentially get them to their 6mm requirement. Is this an option?
