LM95235: T_CRIT/OS pins setting to trigger under 0degC

Part Number: LM95235
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP431

Hi TI Team,

I would like to use the T_CRIT or OS pins available on your sensor to trigger when local temperature goes above the -5deg celsius.

Would be possible, in general, to set the T_CRIT/OS pin to trigger also for temperatures below 0degC?

Thanks in Advance,

A.M.

  • Hello,

As stated in the LM95235 datasheet the minimum temperature to set the T_CRIT/OS pin is 0C. If you are looking for a temperature sensor that has a -5C trigger option for T_CRIT/OS, I would recommend TMP431. TMP431 has the same pinout with Beta Compensation. In order the set the value to -5C you will need to reset the temperature range. The temperature range is set by configuring bit 2 of the Configuration Register 1. Setting bit 2 high configures the TMP43x for the extended measurement range (–64°C to 191°C).

    Best Regards,
