TMP126-Q1: I think there are two errors in the datasheet.

Part Number: TMP126-Q1

I think there are two errors in the datasheet.

  1. It says "An overview of a CRC enabled write transaction is shown below with a data block length of 2" above Figure 8-15. I think it should say 4 instead of 2.
  2. It says "An overview of a CRC enabled read transaction is shown below with a data block length of 2" above Figure 8-16. I think it should say 4 instead of 2.

Am I correct?

  • Hi Marko,

I agree that item #1 appears to be a typo. There are 3 data block bytes, and 1 command byte, and all 4 are used to determine the CRC. I think it should say "data block length of 3" because there are 3 data blocks. For the read transaction, I beleive "data block length of 2" is correct, because there are only 2 data blocks, along with 1 command block. All three of those are used to generate the CRC, but only 2 are read data blocks.

    Regards

  • Ok, so the command word is not part of the number of data blocks. I deducted that information now from the sentence "The CRC calculation is done on the command word and the data block". But I also think the datasheet should mention this earlier in "8.5.2.1.3 CRC Data Block Length".
