The change in displacement is measured using the LDC1614. Using the PCB coil as the sensor, the LDC1614 count changes abruptly away from the metal object, as shown in the following figure:
The PCB coil is moved by fixing it to a three-dimensional lifting platform. While at the same time, if with a cylindrical coil, this problem does not occur. Even if the platform vibrates during movement, the count value should not change so much. The coil parameters are as follows:
Layers = 2
Turns = 24
Trace Width =5.91mils
Trace Spacing = 5.91mils
Inner Diameter = 260mils
Outer Diameter = 827mils
The operating frequency is about 1.2 MHz.
