AWR6843AOP: i wish to know if there is a coming update of the ros2 ti_mmwave driver to support last binaries of the 3D_Tracking example.

Part Number: AWR6843AOP

thanks again Pedrhom Nafisi.

for currently i managed to work in ros2 the driver with xWR6843AOP mmwave radars.

but while upgrading to latest version from the radar_toolbox_1_20_00_11.

it works and crashes.

i wish to use updates version to use the software reset command.

and if possible to use from that radar toolbox the obstacle detection example. that also crashes.

thanks for you help until now.

  • Hello Menachem,

Unfortunately the only binaries currently supported by the ROS2 Driver are the ones that come in the ROS repository. There was a rework done to the Small Obstacle demo seen in the Radar Toolbox to use the Capon algorithm chain as opposed to the Bartlett chain. The Capon chain generally has better detection, but this is at the cost of power and processing intensity. If you want to get the source code for the Small Obstacle Detection binary that is given in our ROS repo, you can find it in our older Industrial Toolbox 4.11. For your convenience I will link it here: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=VLyFKFf__4.11.0&node=A__AL83WtzTg4DL4DGRimSv.g__com.ti.mmwave_industrial_toolbox__VLyFKFf__4.11.0

The 3D People Counting and other labs whose binaries are in the ROS Driver and compatible will have their source coded in this toolbox as well.

If you are still crashing then it might not be the ROS driver but changes to your configuration file that you have done. In that case attempt to you a default configuration file and see if that works

    Best Regards,

    Pedrhom
