AWR1243: Multi-static radar configuration

Part Number: AWR1243

I'm interested in a multi-static radar use case.
I would like to have one chip transmitting, and another chip receiving.
This would not be run in a typical cascaded scenario - the chips are in different electronic assemblies.
We are handling frequency and time synchronization using a different approach.

How could we configure the receiving chip so that it would measure the signal without outputting its own signal?
Is it as simple as configuring chirp so that the  TX0, TX1, and TX2 Enable are all set to zero?
In this configuration, would we expect the RX channels to output valid data?

I appreciate your consideration.

  • Hello,

Yes, you can disable all TX and the RX will still work as expected. You need to synchronize the timing to make sure you are receiving the transmitted chirp when the ADC sampling starts.

    Regards,
