OPT3004: Queries related to lux vs. temperature

Part Number: OPT3004

Hi team,

One of my customer considering OPT3004 for IP Camera application. They have raised below queries, kindly help with the response.

1) dark count lux variation with respect to temperature

2) lux value variation with respect to temperature

3) lux calculation formula using only visible ADC count

Thanks

Mitesh

  • Hi Mitesh,

    Thank you for posting to the Sensing forum.

    Figure 7-10 shows the OPT3004 dark response vs temperature, and the normalized response vs temperature can be seen in Figure 7-11. The datasheet specifies typical measurement drift across temperature as 0.02 %/°C (section 7.5).

    Additionally, the formulas for calculating lux from the output of the Result Register are listed in section 8.6.2.1.

    lux = 0.01 x (2E[3:0]) x R[11:0]

    where E[3:0] are the exponent bits and R[11:0] are the fractional result bits.

    Best regards,

    Nicole
