TMP423 Evalulaton Module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP423, TMP513

I just wanted to know if theres a specific evaluation module for the TMP423. I have noticed theres on for the TMP513... Could i use that eval module and code to evaluate the 423?

  • Daniel;

    I haven't the slightest idea what the answer to your question is-- I'll leave that to someone else

    The reason I'm replying is that I did a double-take when I read your name. "Daniel Morgan" was a hero of the American Revolutionary War; he and his Virginia riflemen defeated Banastre Tarleton in the Battle of Cowpens in SC. The battle was a classic "double envelopment" that is still studied at the West Point Military Academy. ... but maybe you already knew that.

  • Hello Daniel,

    Unfortunately there's not a specific EVM for the TMP423, nor would the TMP513EVM be a suitable platform for evaluating the TMP423 due to the differences in pinout and internal register structure.

    What I can do is ship you our serial bus EVM (https://estore.ti.com/SERIAL-BUS-EVM-Serial-Bus-Evaluation-Module-P1453.aspx) which includes a USB-DIG for digital communication and a prototyping board you could use to wire up a simple evaluation circuit for the TMP423. Mounting the TMP423 on a SOT-23 to DIP adapter would let you install it in the proto board easily, and the simple script editor software that ships with the serial bus EVM would allow you to quickly and easily perform I2C read/write transactions to the part.

    You can e-mail me directly at ian@ti.com to discuss this further.
