OPT3101: OPT3101 Short-range multi-channel ranging

Hi Team:

        I need to apply opt3101 to Distance distance obstacle avoidance by using 3 channels to form a Wide range of distance viewing Angle, similar to Pololu's 3-channel wide FOV Time-of-Flight Distance Sensor. However, there are problems in the selection of infrared emission tube and photodiode. The diode I tested is measured at a distance of about 20cm. Is there a recommended diode model for this application

    Pengsheng,

      Use the System Estimator tool in the OPT3101 tool list. I use this for almost every support question regarding emitters and photodiodes. you can add other optic to the list and compare, the accuracy to the distance. You can select the distance you need. There are users guide and a video  listed under the OPT3101 web page. Very powerful stuff. When you learn to use them you will start yo understand how to design a system very fast.
