AWR2243: Cascade functions on awr2243 (non-p)

Hi TI,

We have a batch of awr2243(non-p) chips that have a batch code of 19, and from what I've read this means that they're non-cascading.

Q1) Is there any way that they can be flashed to become cascade chips?

Q2) Do the cascade related output lines (fmcw syncout/clkout) still output full strength signals, or are these just very low strength signals on these lines?

Hi Jacob

TI has combined AWR2243P and AWR2243 into a single part number last year.

Which means all the AWR2243 device purchased from TI recently should be cascade capable.

These chips were purchased earlier than that, with batch code 19, so I'm asking in regards to the earlier models,

Hello,

No, there is no way to update these parts to support cascading. They are permanently fused to support single chip only.

And in regards to my second question, would you expect to be able to see signals on the fmcw syncout/clockout lines, and at what level?

Hello,

I would not expect to see these signals at all as this feature was not yet implemented when these devices were produced.
