IWR6843ISK: Reading Data from DCA1000EVM when connecting IWR6843ISK board

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, , DCA1000EVM

Tool/software:

Dear TI,

I've wanted to ask for assistance in reading data from the DCA1000EVM board. I have a IWR6843ISK-ODS, MMWAVEICBOOST, and DCA1000EVM board that I have connected together. I am running the CLI_Control command line tool for reading data off of the board over Ethernet. I have configured my IP settings following the CLI software User Guide and am able to execute functions on the board. When I go to collect data using CLI_Control, I get a message that "no LVDS data has been collected" and the .bin file that the software generates is empty. I read in the user guides that the radar needs to be collecting data during the CLI read command for the system to obtain data. I've set the radar to collect data using its serial interface, yet there is still no data being collected. Do you have any suggestions on things I could try?

I read through many of the TI forums and wasn't able to find a solution to this. I am currently running the software using Ubuntu.

Thank you,

  • Hello,

No LVDS Data usually occurs due to an invalid Radar chirp design. This could mean either a parameter that should have been set was not set, or that a certain field within a parameter makes the design invalid due to timings set being impossible. This will cause the sensor to be unable to start thus no data was saved, hence no LVDS data. I recommend trying a default configuration. Are you sending a CFG file to start or a list of LUA commands?

    Best Regards,
