LDC1614EVM: Is it possible to redesign the part of coils by ourselves?

Hello,

I just watched the video that talked about different parts of LDC1614EVM and it seems the upper part which contain the coil could be separated from the rest part with LDC and microcontroller. I'm writing this to check if it's possible for us to redesign the coil and connect the coil we designed to the LDC and microcontroller?

Jiaqui,

You can redesign the coil and attach it to the EVM.

You can design a new sense coil using our Excel-based Inductive Sensing Design Calculator Tool .
You will most likely need to change the resonating caps that are in parallel with the sense coil.

We have an EVM (LDCCOILEVM) that is a collection of coils that might be useful.
You can find the specs the coils in the LDC Reference Coils User’s Guide.

If you are unfamiliar with inductive sensors, the app notes below are a good place to start:

LDC1612/LDC1614 Linear Position Sensing - this app note is a good introduction to position sensing with inductive sensors.
