AWR6843AOP: Regarding LDO (VIOIN,VIOIN_18)

Part Number: AWR6843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843AOP

Tool/software:

Hi team,

This is Lina covering Radar in Korea.

When customer checked the AWR/IWR6843AOP data sheet, we used three LDO like below.

LDO ① 5.0V → 3.3V

LDO ② 5.0V → 1.8V (VIOIN_18 / upper red box)

LDO ③ 3.3V → 1.8V(VIOIN / lower red box)

1.Does VIOIN have to be entered later than VIOIN_18 as shown in the picture?

If we have to do that, please explain why we have to do that.

2. Can't we apply both 1.8V, VIOIN_18 and VIOIN with 1 LDO ②?

Total of three LDOs to use for producing the same 1.8V, There is not enough space in the system, so they need to reduce even one element.

  • Hi Lina,

Can you please clarify whether the customer is using 1.8V I/O mode or 3.3V I/O mode? If customer plans to use 1.8V I/O mode, then single LDO can be used (peak current requirements to be met by LDO) for VIOIN and VIOIN_18 signals.
Also, could you tell how does the customer generate 1.2V supply and 1V supply?

    Best Regards,
    Deexith.

  • Hello Deexith,

    Thank you for your answer.
They are using 1.8V I/O mode. I'll suggest them to use single LDO for VIOIN, VIOIN_18 and ask them how they generate 1.2V and 1V supply.

    .

Before that, could you answer No.1 Question?

This question is about the order of Power Supply Sequence, as they are using additionally LDO for delay purposes (to match the sequence).
1.Does VIOIN have to be entered later than VIOIN_18 as shown in the picture?

    Regards,

    Lina

  • Hi Lina,

If customer is using 1.8 I/O mode, VIOIN and VIOIN_18 can be supplied together. The Above shown data sheet plot is for 3v3 IO mode.

    Thanks,
    Kundan
