Good day~~

As we took a deep dive into the code of IIR filter , we found that there are two

second-order IIR filter cascaded for breath and four second-order IIR filter cascaded

for heartbeat.Why the system consists more stages for heartbeat than breath and could we use fewer stages

(ex: two stages) for heartbeat to save some memory ?

IIR filters are used only to smoothen the breath rate and heart rate spectrum. You can skip the filters altogether, the performance difference seen would be negligible. It is not necessary to have these filters for the chain to function. You will see almost the same performance without it. In IWRL6432 Vital signs demo, these filters are not used.
