Hi Team,

Would like to use the HDC3022 with the permanent IP67 filter. I have questions about the mechanical integration between the filter and enclosure.

Is there a spec on the compression required for the filter, as well as a typical application/integration document?

Alex,

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "permanent IP67 filter"? The HDC3022 already comes with a IP67 filter installed on the sensor top, so there is no need to place an additional filter on the sensor.

If you were to purchase the HDC3020 or HDC3021, which do not come with the IP67 filter, we do not recommend installing your own filter. We do not have a compression spec for that action, and certain adhesives can cause chemical contamination which can affect the sensor's RH performance.

Using the HDC 3022 with the IP 67 filter already installed on top is our goal. We are looking for more information on how to design anenclosure that uses the filter provided by TI

Understood, glad to see you are not trying to put an additional filter directly on top of the HDC3022. I have included a link to an app note that discusses different enclosure ideas for humidity sensors:

Are you trying to use an enclosure around the sensor, with an additional PTFE filter at the air intake openings?
