Hi, we are trying to measure 400 Hz AC rms line current for energy metering IC ADE7878. For this purpose are using TMCS1100 current sensor instead of Current Sense Transformer.
ADE7878 current sense pins accepts differential voltage input of +/- 500 mV peak, therefore TMCS1100 output shall be level shifted to this voltage.
We know that TMCS1100 is single supply and VREF pin is fed with 1.5 VDC bias to get measurement. Instead of single supply use can we use dual supply, I mean can we connect GND pin of TMCS1100 to a negative supply and connect VREF pin to GND therefore we could get an output voltage (VOUT) around GDN level and directly connect ADE7878 current sense pin? Does use in this way cause any damage or malfunction to the TMCS1100? Thanks.
