TMCS1126-Q1: current overload recovery time

I was able to verify our definition here. If the device is placed into saturation (as you say, if Iin,max or min exceeds the swing to Vs or swing to GND limits), this is the time it takes for the device to return to operation off of the rail. We demonstrate this in figure 6-11 of the datasheet. On the rising edge, the device is in a linear state and pushes into the rail, and then on the falling edge, we return the device to linear operation. You can see where I have circled it takes ~300ns for the device to recover off the rail and return to operation.

Are you asking in reference to the plot? If that is the case, I confirmed with the validation engineer that we are only displaying overload recovery in the positive area of this curve. At the initial time 0 in the above plot, the device starts from a 0A current condition and is brought to the positive rail. We do not demonstrate a ground rail recovery in this plot. I have already given him feedback that it would be beneficial if we show both.
