TMP61: reversed polarity

In my application I can not ensure that pin 2 of the device ist connected to the higher supply. The connection could be reversed. Can I still use the TMP61?

Hello Stephan,

Because the TMP61 is a silicon-based thermistor, it does have a polarity. The proper way to hook up the TMP61 is with pin 2 (+) at the higher voltage as you mentioned. A reversed connection would lead to erroneous temperature readings, but shouldn't do damage to the part.
