The following are the steps to calibrate the LOP antenna for the AWR2E44PEVM.
- Flash the board with the mmw app image present in the latest SDK.
- Example Path: C:\ti\mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_07_01_04\mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_07_01_04\ti\demo\awr2x44P\mmw_ddm\awr2x44P_mmw_demoDDM.appimage
- Place a Corner Reflector around 4m in front of the sensor.
- Open the profile config file
- Please use the following configuration for calibration:
C:\ti\mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_07_01_04\mmwave_mcuplus_sdk_04_07_01_04\ti\demo\awr2x44P\mmw_ddm\profiles\awr2E44P\profile_3d_3Azim_1ElevTx_DDMA_awr2E44P_highRangeRes.cfg
- Please use the following configuration for calibration:
- Update the measureRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase command with the distance of the corner reflector. If it is around 4.0m and possible error of 0.5m, the command should be "measureRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase 1 4.0 0.5".
- General Recommendations for testing environment
- Open area to rule out reflections
- Keep the corner reflector at a minimum of 4m away for calibration
- Edit configuration to limit frame count to approximately 10
- General Recommendations for testing environment
- In the mmWave visualizer, load the editted config using the "Load Config From PC and Send" button. The calibration values will be outputted to the console.
- Verify that these values are consistent across frames and the magnitude of the complex antenna calibration coefficients should not very low, ideally should be in the range 0.65-1.0.
- Update current configuration in the command "antennaCalibParams" with the output coefficients obtained in step 4
- Note* - due to LOP antenna it is recommended to edit all future configurations used to include antenna calibrations and to decrease gain to 24dB
