AWR2E44PEVM: Temperature sensor accuracy

Hello,

according the the dataheet (SWRS318A – NOVEMBER 2024 – REVISED JUNE 2025, page 37, TX1-4) the temperature sensor accuracy is +/- 5deg. There is also a note saying "Average of TX temp sensor readings at 140C can be tightened to +/-3C."

I want to know what exactly is meant by that?
1. Averaging the temperature of the four Tx sensors at any point in time and use that.
2. Averaging each temperature sensor alone over a period of time.

Hello,

Only the TX temp sensor accuracy is tightened. All other temp sensors will still be +/-5 deg.

This is only applicable at 140C. At all other temperatures, the accuracy of the TX is still +/-5deg. This means that the device only needs to be shut off once TX reaches 137 degrees instead of 135 degrees. This helps give another 2 degrees of margin at hot temperatures.

the question is more about what to average, for example is it the average of a TX sensor over a period of time? or the average of all TX sensors at a point in time?

Hello Anas,

Sorry for the delay.

The average can just be a single average of all four TX for each received monitoring report. If this value reaches >= 137C then the sensor should be shut down until the internal temp is below this value.
