LMT86 data sheet, LMT85 data sheet, User's Guide for the LMT84-7 errors for DCK package pin out

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMT85, LMT86, LMT84, LMT87

DATA SHEET ERROR -- LMT85 Analog Temp Sensor Data Sheet (SNIS168B)

on page 4 the pin definitions and pin out for DCK package do not match between the diagram in the upper left and the Pin Function table at the bottom of the page (Pin 1 is VDD in the diagram and Pin 1 is GND in the table).

The recommended layout Figure 19 on page 15 matches the diagram and not the table.

DATA SHEET ERROR -- LMT86 Analog Temp Sensor (SNIS169B)

on page 4 the diagram for the DCK package in the upper left does not match the Pin Functions table at the bottom of the page (Pin 1 in the diagram is GND while Pin 1 in the table is VDD).

The recommended layout in Figure 19 on page 15 matches the diagram and not the table.

The USER's GUIDE for the LMT84-7 (SNIU013) does not list the correct part numbers in Table 1.

LMT84-7 EVM Bill of Materials (page 4) for the LMT85DCK or LMT86DCK, but the schematic on page 5 matches the diagrams for the LMT85DCK and LMT86DCK in their data sheets.

I would suggest that you look carefully at the data sheets for the LMT84 thru LMT87 family of parts for this same type of error.

I am assuming that the Pin Functions table in the data sheets may incorrect for the DCK (SC70-5) package and the diagram and recommended layout figures are correct

-- PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE AS I AM CURRENTLY DOING A PCB LAYOUT WITH THE LMT86DCK.

COMMENT -- Why would you have different pin outs for different parts in the same family where their main differences is the slope of the temperature vs voltage output (LMT84DCK, LMT85DCK, LMT86DCK, and LMT87DCK) with the same package DCK (SC70-5)?

  • Hi Murdock,

You are absolutely correct. Please follow the pin diagram on the DCK package on the LMT85 and LMT86, ignore the pin functions table.

The part numbers listed in the BOM are old and will be replaced with the appropriate LMT84-7 designations. It is a known issue and the new User Guide has not been uploaded yet.

Please let me know if you have any additional question.
