LMT87-Q1 datasheet page 4 has ACCURACY CHARACTERISTICS and only following temperature range has maximum value of 2.7°C.

70°C to 150°C; VDD = 3.0 V to 5.5 V

0°C ; VDD = 3.0 V to 5.5 V

–50°C; VDD = 3.6 V to 5.5 V

From Figure 2 Temperature Error vs Temperature, accuracy of temperature range “0°C to 70°C” and “–50°C to 0°C” is better than 150°C. So I think LMT87-Q1 can guarantee 2.7°C maximum for full temperature range.

Also LMT84-Q1 guarantee 2.7°C maximum for full temperature range on page 5.

Please advise why LMT87-Q1 does not guarantee 2.7°C maximum for full temperature range.

Hi Toshio,

The 2.7C error is guaranteed only if the appropriate voltage is applied to the part as listed in the table:
70°C to 150°C; VDD = 3.0 V to 5.5 V
0°C ; VDD = 3.0 V to 5.5 V
–50°C; VDD = 3.6 V to 5.5 V

I understand the datasheet specification and I want to know the reason why LMT87-Q1 does not guarantee (have) the minimum and maximum value between –50°C to 0°C and 0°C to 70°C.

Hi Toshio-san,

There are some numbers missing from the datasheet. The LMT87 does guarantee minimum and maximum accuracy values of -2.7C and 2.7C between -50C to 0C and 0C to 70C.

Please answer when you will update the datasheet “7.5 Accuracy Characteristics” to specify minimum and maximum accuracy for full temperature range.
I believe specify minimum and maximum accuracy for full temperature range is important to promote to customer.

Hi Ushikubo-san,

The accuracy of the LMT87-Q1 is the same as the accuracy of the LMT87. The table is a little confusing in that you need to take care of the power supply voltage. With a 3.6V to a 5.5V power supply the accuracy limit for the LMT87 is +/-2.7C for the temperature range of -50C to +150C. I will be editing this datasheet in a few weeks and will make the table clearer. The new datasheet may take more than a month to appear on the web site as I am making other edits to it as well.
