TMP121AIDBVT __________What means AI in part number?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP121

Basically, I would like to know what means every letter in the part-number of TMP121AIDBVT?
Is there a service from TI where I can find the sense of letters in the different components of TI?

I often have some problems with looking this information?

  • Hello Eugen,

TI has many products to offer and each specific product group may have a prefix to designate the product you are purchasing from TI.  In this case the prefix is "TMP" which tells you this device is a temperature sensor.  The next 3 or 4 digits immediately following the prefix designate the part number and describe the specific functionality associated to that part number.  It is best to consult the data sheet to find out the exact function of the device.  The "121" function is a local temperature sensor with 1.5C accuracy using an SPI interface.  The next letter in the part number numbering scheme "A" is simply the revision.  IT is TI's way of keeping track of different revisions we may offer.  The "I" in the name tells you this is an industrial grade device.  Sometimes TI specifies industrial grade devices as -40C to 85C, but in this case we offer this device from -40C to 125C.  So, once again, I recommend for you to check the data sheet to verify the guaranteed temperature range.  Finally, the last digits indicate the package type.  In this case, the DBVT package is our 6-pin SOT-23 package and is offered in small-quantity (250 units) tape-and-reel.

I hope this helps.  TI has many products to offer so keep in mind that although we strive to follow these rules, in some cases it is difficult to do so.  The best place to find exactly what the device is and what it does is by looking and checking out the details in its data sheet.

    Regards,
