FDC1004Q Detect the capacitance of liquid

We want to detect the capacitance of the liquid.
We are interested in FDC1004Q. (Must be qualified for automotive)

We expect that the capacitance of liquid would be detected by FDC1004Q.
As precondition, an electrode is exposed to the liquid directly.

Is that possible?

Would it be possible to detect capacitance of liquid in the state that a metal electrode is exposed to conductive liquid?

Hi,

I do not think this is possible since a direct contact between the sensor and conductive liquid would short out the system.

Hello,

If your second electrode (GND) is not in direct contact with the conductive liquid, it may be possible to place it on the outside of the liquid container.
