TMP101 and TMP101-Q1 Accuracy

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP101, TMP101-Q1

Hi Sir,

As I know, the TI Q1 version is for automotive application. Does not have difference between Q1 or non Q1 of the features.

But we are found out the Accuracy difference between TMP101 and TMP101-Q1 datasheet.

May I have your support for clear this Question?

  • Hi Hugo,

I'll look into this, and get back to you.

  • Hi Hugo,

When I was trying to convert the TMP101-Q1 datasheet to the new format recently, I realized that TMP101 was done prior TMP101-Q1, and TMP101-Q1 was handled by different organization. In order to meet the automotive Q-Grade specs, we need to characterize and collect more data at least additional lots as well as for qualification. I checked the TMP101 commercial datasheet history, it appears to be a mistake as Rev. G of the datasheet had a spec as TMP101-Q1 datasheet. The change was made back in March of 2015 for Rev. I when we are trying to convert most of the datasheet to a new format. I suspected it was a typo on the TMP101 commercial.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I am currently working on the two datasheets preventing any confusion. Please refer to the TMP101-Q1 datasheet as the specs for Q-Grade. I will need to modify the datasheet of the commercial device to push it back to ±3°C. It doesn't make sense the TMP101 commercial grade have two rows of temperature accuracy specified ±2 MAX for entire temperature range. I'll try to release the datasheet to the web soon.

    Hope this helps!
