LDC1312EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1312EVM, LDC1312

Hello,

We started working on LDC1312EVM with 14mm coil and we could see the change in code  however we were not able to see the change in inductance value

So could you please help me on this.

We later used a ferrite shield to cover the back of the coil the red light LED is ON indicating error, so could you please help us how to figure out the problem

Thanks and Regards,

Rajath Kumar

  • Hello Rajath,

Thank you for evaluating the LDC1312. I need a little more information from you to give an accurate answer:

    • Are you using the Sensing Solutions GUI to perform this measurement? If so, are using the default LDC1312 EVM coil and capacitor configuration?
    • The Ferrite is responsible for the red LED, the red LED is not an indication of failure. It shows when the measured EVM inductance on either channel differs from the default inductance of the EVM coil.

For example, the red LED may be lit if

      • either of the two sensors has been replaced with a custom sensor, or
      • the user touches either of the sensor coils while plugging in the EVM, or
      • the EVM is plugged in while either of the sensor coils is in the presence of metal/ferrite.

Can you in addition make sure the sensor capacitance has been specified in the device configuration section of the Sensing Solutions GUI.
