Hi, LMT70 is work well and I will be mounting it in a small stainless steel well similar to what is shown in TIDA-00824 figure 10. Do you have any suggestions for the thermal epoxy used. I assuming this is non-conducting epoxy and there is no film between the bottom of LMT70 board and epoxy or the metal can. Any suggestions appreciated. Harry

Hi Harry,

Yes, you are correct the epoxy should be thermally conductive and electrically isolating. We used a Contronics branded thermal epoxy for this design, unfortunately the specific epoxy we use is no longer on their website but they have many similar products. What is your application?

Michael,

Thank you. the LMT70 board (0.1" x 0.1") is mounted in a small stainless steel well. The outside surface will be making contact with skin for skin surface temperature measurements. I wasn't planning on back filling the well, just mounting the LMT70 board to the surface using the thermal epoxy. Do you think backfill with non-conductive epoxy is advisable?

Hi Harry,

I'm not familiar with the word backfill, can you describe it more? If it is about filling the entire well with thermal epoxy then I do not recommend it because of added thermal mass. You just need a small amount of thermal epoxy to attach the LMT70 to your stainless steel well.

Michael,
Filling the entire well with non-thermal epoxy is what I meant. So thermal epoxy to mount LMT70 and then back fill with non-thermal epoxy. Per your suggestion I WILL NOT backfill. Thanks for your help.
