AWR1243: Power on Reset values for AWR1xxx Control Registers not documented in Interface Control Document (Rev 0.705)

Part Number: AWR1243

In reviewing the sub block definitions for RadarSS and MasterSS settings I did not see any indications of the power on reset default values for each setting. In the next revision update to this document could this information please be added? Thanks.

  • Hello Jonathan,
In case of TI Radar device the user does not program the registers directly but interfaces with a set of APIs. There are no default values for the API parameters and user has to provide the API with all the parameters it expects.

    Regards,
    Vivek
  • Vivek,

What you are assuming is someone who wants to use the API. For a potential application I am looking at low latency solutions with quick power up and profile configuration. As such the use of a processor with the API is a challenge to meet timeline requirements. I am looking at direct register access without the API. Knowing what the power on reset defaults are save me cycles in configuring the device if registers are already set the way I want to use them.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

  • Hi Jonathan,

The API calls do a lot more than register configurations and for AWR1243 that is the use model.

There is a similar discussion about boot time consideration in AWR1243: Time Need to configure via SPI which you might find helpful.

It talks about boot time for AWR1243  and minimal API sequence set needed for the device setup.

Please let us know if the boot time requirements are tighter than the ones covered in thread above.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav
