AWR1243: Failed to connect serial port when I want to do Flash Program in Radar studio 1.7.4.0

Hi,

I want to burn the spi flash of AWR1243 ES1.0 EVM by radar studio. I am using the radar studio 1.7.4.0 in DFP 07.

I first set the SOP = mode 5 in radar studio and it works ok. Then I tried to connect the serial port and got below error.

[09:35:43] [RadarAPI]: ar1.Connect(24,921600,1000)

[09:35:45] [RadarAPI]: Error: Connection failed: Calling_ConnectTarget returned 3

If I set the SOP = mode 2, I can connect the serial port well in radar studio.

Would you pls help?

Can you please attach the snapshot of the RadarStudio for this case?

Alternatively , you can use the Uniflash for flashing the image to the device .

Have you tried the Uniflash for flashing the AWR1243 device?

Pls find the snapshot below after set SOP =mode 5 and then click rs232 connect in radar studio.

I have no problem to use Uniflash to burn the spi flash, but my customer can only burn the flash by radar studio and met problem. I need to make the radar studio flash works to reproduce customer's problem.

Is COM24 the "XDS110 Class Apllication /USER UART" port?

Have you tried disconnecting and re-connecting the USB of both the DEVPACK and AWR1243BOOST?

Raghu,

Yes. COM24 is "XDS110 Class Apllication /USER UART" port on my PC. As I mentioned before, if I set SOP= mode 2, it is ok to connect to the COM24 in radar studio.

I have tried to power off/on and disconnect/re-connect usb cable and I still met same problem. I also tried another EVM and met same problem.

Can you send me the pic of your AWR1243BOOST and DEVPACK setup? Would like to confirm few jumper settings.

Raghu,

Another EVM I tried with devpack v1.0.

For the SOP jumper setting on EVM, I have tried with 101 or 001 and got same problem.

The setup looks all fine. Send me "Device manager" snapshot.

Hello Chris,
In the SOP5 mode you need not connect the RS232. You just need to select the right COM number , set SOP5 , check box the binaries you want to flash and then click on "Flash program ".
But we recommend you use the Uniflash to flash the program to the QSPI flash and not the radar studio.

Raghu,

With Vivek's suggestion, I can flash the spi in radar studio 1.7.40 now.
