IWR1642BOOST: Configuration discrepancy between Radar Studio vs OOB

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

Hi Experts,

Does Out-of-Box demo have the limitation of configuration for frame/profile/chip setting?
Or is it possible to set the same settings which Radar Studio can configure?

Best regards,
Hitoshi

  • Hi Hitoshi-san,

Please refer to the following thread which is in context of the mmWave Sensing Estimator but the same applies to Radar Studio as well.

    e2e.ti.com/.../2283738

Basically, both Radar Studio and Sensing Estimator generate configuration parameters according to the capabilities of the selected device (14xx or 16xx) i.e. what is possible with the device, while the mmWave SDK Demo has been tested/supports only a small sub-set of configurations. This means that not all configurations generated using the mmWave Sensing Estimator or Radar Studio will work with the SDK demos.

The SDK demos show only one possible processing chain and do not claim to be a processing chain which can process all possible use-cases. In other words, the configurations generated using the Sensing estimator are a Super-set of what is supported by the SDK demos.
