OPT3001: light degradation

Hi Team,

Is it possible to detect weak illuminance (<40lux) after exposing strong illuminance like sunlight for long time for OPT3001?
My customer concerns about light degradation of sensor part in this case.

Hi Yaita,

How long is a long time? If the device is exposed to UV light for lengths of time on the order of months or years then we recommend a UV filter external of the sensor. The section: "5 Ultraviolet Compensation" in our app note www.ti.com/.../sbea002a.pdf has some more details.
